The Album

Surviving the Storms is built around several deeply personal storylines, each exploring different forms of struggle, loss, love, conflict, and ultimately survival.

The album opens with a song about an extremely controlling mother and the emotional consequences of living under that kind of influence. The following four songs take us back to my own childhood and the childhood I shared with my older sister — growing up in a destructive home shaped by alcoholism, instability, and circumstances no child should have to carry.

The next six songs move into different chapters of my adult life. They explore love, longing, friction, difficult relationships, and the chaos that often comes with trying to understand both ourselves and the people closest to us.

Track twelve tells another deeply emotional story: that of a mother losing her child in a world where money, power, and inequality can influence outcomes that should never be determined by either. It is based on a real-life story and reflects an experience that, sadly, many parents may recognize in their own way.

The final song, track thirteen, brings the album back to where much of the story began. It is connected to the songs about my childhood, but this time the focus is on my own journey — breaking free from the past, refusing to follow the path that seemed to have been written for me, and creating a different future.

At its core, Surviving the Storms is about exactly that: living through the storms we are given, carrying the scars they leave behind, and finding the strength to change the ending.
